13 Mitzvot

An integral element of Charly's Bat Mitzvah

essential to her learning and preparedness is engaging in 13 Mitzvot.

She has completed quite a few and is in the progress of many more.

These 13 Mitzvot (or good deeds) will fall under the three groups:

1. Loving Deeds

2. Torah Study

3. Worship

1.  Charly led our family's entire Passover Seder in 2019.  She added/included 2 items on the Seder plate that year .  The first, a shoelace to represent solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers.  The second, an orange s a symbol of inclusion of LGBTQ community and others who are marginalized within the Jewish community. A symbol of the fruitfulness for all Jews when LGBTQ are contributing and active members of Jewish life.

2. Participated in our synagogue's Good Deeds Day in 2019.

3.  Volunteered and packed Hamentashen for Purim in 2019.
